This trip gives you a chance to see Uganda’s rich wildlife, beautiful scenery, and interesting cultures. The safari starts and ends in Kampala with enjoyable road trips along the way.

Detailed 15-Day Uganda Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Sipi Falls, hike to the falls, and coffee tour
Your driver guide will meet you at your hotel in Kampala and give you a short briefing about the safari. Start the 290-kilometer journey to Sipi Falls in eastern Uganda, with lunch along the way. On arrival, hike to see the Sipi Falls and enjoy clear views of Mount Elgon. You will see many birds around the area.
Visit a nearby coffee plantation and learn how local farmers plant, harvest, and roast coffee. Taste a cup of freshly brewed coffee and learn a few Gishu and Sabiny words. Later, go to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park
After breakfast, check out and drive north to Kidepo Valley National Park, about 427 kilometers from Sipi Falls. Enjoy the scenic drive and lunch en route. On arrival, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Morning game drive and Karimojong visit
After breakfast, go for a morning game drive in Narus Valley, the best place to see wildlife. You may spot cheetahs, lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and warthogs. Return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, visit a nearby Karimojong community. Learn about their lifestyle, food, and traditional Manyattas. You can also learn a few words in their language. Return to your lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 4: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, start your journey to Murchison Falls National Park via Kitgum and Gulu, about 313 kilometers away. Stop for lunch on the way. Arrive in the park, check in to your lodge, have dinner, and rest.
Day 5: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
After breakfast, go for a game drive in the park’s northern sector. Look out for lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and Jackson’s hartebeests. Return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. See hippos, crocodiles, and many birds such as the African fish eagle. Take photos near the falls before returning to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After breakfast, check out and drive 252 kilometers southwest to Kibale National Park. Stop in Fort Portal for lunch before continuing to your lodge near Kibale Forest. Have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi Village visit
After an early breakfast, go to Kanyanchu Visitor Center for a briefing before chimpanzee trekking. You will spend about one hour observing them in the forest. Return for lunch at your lodge.
In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Village. Meet the local people, see their crafts, and enjoy their songs and dances. You can try making baskets or mats and buy some as souvenirs. You may also see birds and small animals during the walk. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and evening game drive
After breakfast, drive 75 kilometers to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Stop at the Explosion Craters and Lake Katwe to see salt mining activities. Arrive at your lodge, check in, and have lunch. In the evening, go for a game drive before returning to your lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 9: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
After breakfast, go for a morning game drive in Kasenyi Plains to spot more animals. Return for lunch and later head to Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise between Lake George and Lake Edward. See hippos, crocodiles, and many birds before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 10: Chimpanzee trek in Kyambura Gorge and transfer to Ishasha
After breakfast, go for another chimpanzee trek in Kyambura Gorge. Enjoy watching the primates and other animals like black colobus monkeys. After lunch, drive 73 kilometers to Ishasha in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 11: Tree-climbing lions and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, visit the Ishasha plains to see the famous tree-climbing lions. Take photos and then drive 170 kilometers to Bwindi with lunch on the way. On arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 12: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, go to the park office for a briefing before the gorilla trek. Follow your guide through the forest to find a habituated gorilla family. Spend one hour observing their behavior before heading back to the starting point. Return to your lodge to freshen up and then drive 133 kilometers to Lake Bunyonyi. Have dinner and rest at your lodge.
Day 13: Boat trip and island visit
After breakfast, enjoy a boat trip on Lake Bunyonyi and visit some of its 29 islands. Learn about their history and culture. You may also walk on one of the islands and meet local people. Return to your lodge for lunch, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 14: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and boat ride
After breakfast, drive 205 kilometers to Lake Mburo National Park. Stop in Mbarara for lunch, then continue to your lodge. In the afternoon, go for a boat ride on Lake Mburo to see hippos, crocodiles, and birds like the African finfoot and shoebill stork. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 15: Morning game drive and return to Kampala
After breakfast, go for a morning game drive to see zebras, topis, elands, impalas, and hippos. Later, drive 229 kilometers to Kampala with lunch on the way. Stop at the Equator in Kayabwe to take photos and watch water experiments. Buy some handmade crafts before continuing to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport. This marks the end of your 15-day Uganda safari.
