East African Tourist Visa – Application Guide & Requirements
An East African Tourist Visa allows tourists to visit three countries: Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya. This visa is suitable for travelers who plan to trek mountain gorillas in Uganda and Rwanda or visit wildlife parks in Kenya.
The visa is a multiple entry visa and is valid for 90 days from the date it is issued.
Who Can Apply
The East African Tourist Visa is available to foreign nationals visiting the three countries for tourism only. The application is done online and must be submitted through the country you will enter first.
If Rwanda is your first entry point, you apply through the Rwanda government services website.
If Uganda is your first entry point, you apply through the Uganda e Immigration website.
If Kenya is your first entry point, you apply through the Kenya eCitizen portal.
Processing usually takes between two and five days. Once approved, you receive the visa by email. The visa fee is USD 100 and it is not refundable.
Required Documents
Before applying, make sure you have all the required documents. These include a valid passport, a passport size photo, a travel itinerary, a yellow fever certificate, a return ticket, and proof of accommodation.
